Installing an in ground trampoline for yard is a great way to add something different to your backyard. Unlike the raised trampolines, an in ground trampoline allows for jumping on a surface that is flushed with the ground. This allows the trampoline to be more accessible to young children, and helps prevent injuries caused by falls. Depending on the size of the trampoline, several common garden tools can be used to dig the hole and create a soft area around it in the event of a fall.

Instructions For Setting Up An In Ground Trampoline

1. Measure your in ground trampoline for yard and record the diameter. This will indicate the size of the hole you will need to dig. Add an additional 2 feet (0.6 m) to the diameter.

2. Mark the hole for the trampoline on the ground using marking spray paint. Be sure to include the additional 2 feet (0.6 m) in extra width to allow for easy installation of the trampoline. The hole should be dug in a grassy area, away from trees, walls and anything else that may cause injury. If your soil has drainage problems, you may have to dig a drainage trench, or the hole will trap water and ruin your in ground trampoline for yard.

3. Dig the hole, either by hand or with a hoe. Make sure there is a slight inclination on both sides of the hole so as to be less vulnerable to collapse. The inclination should be around the diameter of the hole, causing the ground to be deeper in the middle and slope up to the edge of the hole. This will prevent the walls from collapsing. Save the excavated earth, as it may be necessary to back fill the remaining space after installing the trampoline.

4. Place the trampoline into the hole. If it doesn’t fit, then you must extend the hole. Do not worry if the hole is a little bigger since you can always put back the dirt previously excavated. When the trampoline is inside, use the back fill to make the ground level. There should be no difference in height between the ground and your in ground trampoline for yard.
