If you wish to read books without having to go to the library, here’s how to go about creating your own home library. There is no harm in making a mini library at home.  Reading is a great way to improve your knowledge and improve your intellectual capabilities. Especially for young children, the habit of reading is a great way for them to  learn about other cultures and and expand their vocabulary. One of the easiest ways to cultivate the habit of reading is to make a library at home.

Outlined below are some tips on how to create a home library.

The library does not necessarily need to be created in a  special room. Using a mid-level partition as a wall, you can create a library in no time. With this open concept, you avoid feeling confined indoors. An open concept can positively affect your mood when trying to read indoors. Ensure that the air in the room is constantly cool.

Your cozy library must have good air circulation. In addition, you should also pay attention to lighting and room layout, especially the arrangement of your  bookcases.  Allow light to naturally come into the library where possible.

For lighting, you may use overhead lights or desk lamps. The placement of light fixtures in your library will be important. The light should be positioned behind you while reading. This is to prevent your eyes from becoming tired from direct exposure to the light.

To further enhance the cozy atmosphere in the room, you should ensure that the bookcases are arranged in the right places. Although the room may not be big, order and structure are crucial. It may be wiser to use smaller bookcases that are fully stacked, versus large, over-sized book cases that will take up space and block out the natural light. Bookcases should also be positioned so as to allow  air  to flow across the gap between the shelf and the wall.
